Vehicles

To ensure proper and cost effective installation of decals to vehicles. Please be aware, if you are not the person dropping the vehicle off at our shop or preparing the vehicle for our arrival for an on-site installation we ask that you ensure the appropriate person is aware of the guidelines below as failure to meet them may result in additional charges above and beyond the original quote.

1. Booking an appropriate time - When booking a time for install please pick a day and time where we can have access to the vehicle for as long as possible. Communicate any hard deadlines where the vehicle must be back in service to our staff so we can schedule the most appropriate block of time to do the installation.

2. Provide a clean vehicle - Dirt is the enemy of decals. It is usually best to take the vehicle to a carwash the night before installation. This allows any water that finds its way in between body panels during the wash to dry overnight.

IMPORTANT: Do not use any waxes/polishing agents/finishing chemicals on the vehicle after rinsing off the soap as this may affect the adhesion of the decals to the vehicle. We always give vehicles a final wipedown and preparation before installations but we are not a car washing service.

IMPORTANT: Vehicles that require extensive cleaning after being dropped off at our shop or at an onsite location prior to installation are subject to additional labour time charged at our normal hourly rate (15min increments). Keep in mind that we are washing these vehicles with hand spray bottles and paper towels, not a pressure washer so it can be a time consuming process. It will always be much more cost effective for the client to clean the vehicle themselves beforehand.

3. Hardware Removal - Certain projects may require the removal of vehicle hardware and/or fixtures. In instances where we are not familiar with the removal method or there is a chance of damage to the vehicle during removal we may request that the customer remove these components or have them removed by a professional mechanic before decal installation.

4. On-Site PPE & Safety Regulations - If we are coming to your facility or another off-site facility to perform an installation please inform us of the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and Safety Regulations required to be compliant. Example 1: If there are ladder height restrictions where work above a certain height must be completed on scaffolding or a man lift instead of a ladder. Example 2: Safety "Indoc" session is required resulting in additional time on site.

5. Climate & Weather Considerations - The Ideal temperature range for decal installation is 8°c - 20°c and in a dry, non-windy environment. Installations that are required outside of these parameters may result in longer installation times and undesirable results.

IMPORTANT: Installations performed outside these parameters may void any warranties and guarantees normally provided by Signtek Industries Inc. If there are variables present that may affect your warranty or guarantee we will notify you before installation or as the concern presents itself.

On-Site

On-site installations can require co-ordination of a number of different parties to proper, safe and cost effective installation. If you are not the person that will be meeting us on-site installation we ask that you ensure the appropriate person is aware of the guidelines below as failure to meet them may result in additional fees above and beyond the original quote.

Communicate any hard deadlines where the area must be accessible to your staff or the general public so we can schedule the most appropriate block of time to do the installation.

2. Provide a clean work environment - Dirt, grease and other substances can significantly impact the ability of our staff to do the installation properly and safely. Whenever possible please ensure that the area of installation and its surrounding area has been cleaned and had any work hazards removed the day prior to the arrival of our installation team. This allows the area to dry fully before decals or signs go up.

IMPORTANT: On areas where decals are being installed do not use any waxes/polishing agents/finishing chemicals after rinsing off soap or other cleaning chemicals as this may affect the adhesion of the decals to the surface. We always give installation areas a final wipedown and preparation before installations but we are not a cleaning service.
